National Cadet Corps

National Cadet Corps at a glance-

The national corps is the youth wing of Armed forces with its headquarters in New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadets Corps is a Tri-Service Organization, Comprising the Army, Navy and Air wing engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National cadets Corps in India are a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high school, higher secondary colleges and University all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades.

Aims of NCC-
  • To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
  • To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and to provide spirit of always being available for the service of the nation.
  • To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.

The activities can be broadly divided in to four district categories described below-
  • Institutional Training
  • Community Development
  • Youth Exchange Programmer
  • Adventure Training
